Default Synth advice please

So I am new to keyboards, but am a musician (sax). I have a FANTASTIC hammond clone (KeyB) with drawbars dual manuals etc. I will be taking this on gigs but need a further synth or box of tricks to supply piano and other synth sounds.
My stuff is blues and rock based but I am not averse to weird synth, syth strings etc. I am definitely not techno or rave orientated.

Should I get a sound module?

Should I get a small keyboard to sit on top of the keyb?

Should I ebay an old synth so I can learn about synths without megabucks?

I do need the piano whichever option

Help appreciated

Default Budget

What kind of budget are you looking at?

There are a number of options, depending on price, portability, whether or not you're incredibly anal and a bit of a geek (like myself) and seek true authenticity or want something that'll sit pretty in a mix, etc. etc.

Will you be playing the Hammond sound and piano/synth etc. simultaneously? Does your current organ have MIDI out?

Hi there,

I'd get a small module

Roland Sonic Cell Synthesizer / Sound Module And U at DV247.COM

or a Kurzweil.

I have a Korg M3, for gigs i just take the module but even that's too big. Not standard Rack size, have to carry the thing in a 49-key bag. Sounds wonderful though. I do the same kind of music that you play
