Default Korg Monotribe

Teasers appeared on April 1st prompting speculation that the 'Are you ready to tweak some real analogue hardware?' slogan was a wind. However it looks like the 'Monotribe' is set to be a sort of progression of last years Monotron. Cool

I keep forgetting about the DV magazine It's really good. Needs a bit more publicity though to get the exposure it deserves

If this comes in at a super-reasonable price point I think I may dampen my underwear a little.

The Montron was only 50. This seems to have a fair bit more going on than the Monotron. I'm hoping between 100 & 150. Much more than that & I think it will to start to look a bit expensive for what is there.

im still amazed they didnt add some sort of midi or usb control too it ..they seriously missed out on that..

if you have a ipad you might as well buy the korg apps for it they offer you better control and a better sequencer and also since the last few system updates you can add external hardware such as keyboard controllers or the new akai ipad controller out soon for me ill stick with my real ms20 and buy a few ipad apps ..

or another option is the brilliant korg ds app that offers you a amazing sounding synth for about 20 ..

i thought this would have been around the 100 mark seeing as you dont get any midi/usb control and non tweakable drums and only very very basic sequencing but too have a rrp of 192 is way off the mark !! korg has way over priced this

DV have this listed as 169. That's far too much for this. They are also touting it as 'an analogue Electribe'! I'm not so sure the Electribe fans will buy that one seeing as it only has three analogue drum sounds that cannot be tweaked. I've no doubt this will be a blast to use. But my problem is it's neither one thing or the other - You can't say it's an analogue drum machine when it only has three non-editable sounds. And synth wise it's basically the Monotron with a couple of extra parameters to tweak. And that's why I don't think it's worth anywhere near 169. 100 tops maybe. Even then you might be better off buying a couple of Monotrons & modding the Hell out of one of them
