I'm still gazing forlornly at the JV1080/2080 XV5080 XP30 etc.

God knows why - I don't need them. Just fancy all those techno/hip-hop/house/horsesnorts 7 expansions.

Politely declined... however, if they don't get those 64 bit drivers out soon, keep talking...

Please note - no Roland S&S synth, or Korg M1 plinky piano.

I've heard they're never doing 64 bit drivers.......

Out of interest do you/have you ever used the Virus as an audio interface? That's what I plan to do for the next several months until I build a dedicated space in the new place.

I've got a laptop, and have used the Virus as an interface when I couldn't be bothered dragging the main rack over to it.

I can honestly say I've never had an issue with it - it sounds great, minimal latency, and naturally you can use the Virus Control with it. Highly recommended.

Now 3.1 is out for the beast, they're concentrating on getting 64 Bit Drivers and Virus Control out. According to their own forum - that's the official line. At last.

Ah yes, aaahhhhhhh yes.

Feel comfortable in the fact that they are the Alfa Romeo of the synth world. You know you want one but the repair bills would be vast. And apartently support from Alesis is as non existent as that from Alfa!

Indeed, they just sound so god damn good man. IMO theres nowt out there to compare with either. prophet 08 is great but its not a filth monster like the andromeda. still 1800 and as you say maintenance

[QUOTE=mutilatedlip;37988]I've still got an old Control Synthesis Deep Bass Nine sat in the rack.

It's great - not so much as a TB303 clone like it was designed. More of a general bass machine.

Yeah a lovely understated thing :-) I use mine live and there's nothing I have that could replace it.

That has to be a bargain.

Didn't have the money to bid this month though
they do come up often even with a spec similar and above that.

funnily enough, when i sold mine last year it had the exact same spec as above which is part the reason i jumped into this post lol.
wonder if its the guy i sold it onto?

when i came to sell it on,i was shocked to see how many came up in a rolling month and how cheap they are.but ultimately my biggest regret was not holding out for the 6000.
