A quick squizz at eBay to view completed listings shows that they are selling for anything between £250 and £500 dependent upon condition, with most in the £350 to £500 range.

future music magazine (FM214 june) 'In the studio with sharooz' video has sharooz tweeking a Roland juno 106 and i loved the sound of the bass.
Since then ive made this guy an offer today of £500 for his 106 via email , but whilst waiting for an answer ive kinda gone off the idea of buying it (impulse buy) .. I keep thinking of the access virus c i bought (another impulse buy) to which i never even used in a single track i made. So im kinda hoping he doesnt get back intouch and that somebody else has bought it instead ![]() ______________________________

Hmm I dunno. I had a Juno 1 at the same time as a DX7 and D50 back in the day and even though it wasn't the greatest of the Roland Analogues it demolished the other two for bass sounds.
The 106 is probably a solid investment too in good nick. If I had the money (which I dont) then i'd snap it up no questions asked. The pad sounds on this vid are pure Roland and I've not seen a convincing software reproduction. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Rp8M...eature=related |

Hiya Cane
I've only just noticed this thread. I've had a Juno 106 since 1996 when I bought it for about £300. It's in great nick and works perfectly - always been a favourite of mine. However, I don't think £500 is a fair price for one. There are a lot of other synths out there, and if you work ITB a lot, a lot of plugs that can get very close depending on what you're after it for. If you're hankering after analogue and knobs that you can fiddle with, then it's a great machine. Though the Juno 60 and 6 are slightly warmer, I think. The bass on the beast is absolutely incredible though, and is all over the dance hits of the 90s (remember those? Underworld, DJ Hell, Sabres of Paradise etc. etc.). It has a loudness switch on it that seems to make it even more beefier, and the chorus - though undoubtedly noisy - really makes the strings and higher stuff stand out. A lovely machine. And strangely enough, so noisy at times that when in the mix, gives the whole track a kind of tape-y feel. If you know what I mean. If you could get one, I'd definitely go for it. But £400 tops, I'd say. However, if I ever decide to sell mine in the future, I won't accept less than £550 ![]() |
