Default Hello there!

Hi everyone

Just a quick hello from me. I'm newly on board with DV, looking after the editorial content of the website, with big plans going forwards. As part of that, I'm lucky enough to have joined this community!

Professionally, I'm a writer with a background in editing instrument and pro audio magazines. Several years ago I actually started a magazine called Playmusic, which I edited for about five years. More recently I've edited Pro Sound News Europe and Pro Audio Middle East. I've also written broadly across the industry for more magazines than I care to remember...

Musically, I used to be in bands as a younger man, but then my hair decided to leave me, so now I play gigs as a solo singer songwriter in my local area. If anyone happens to find themselves at the Grey Lady in Tunbridge Wells of a Sunday night then please make yourselves known - I'll be the guy in the hat.

Thanks for letting me join in with the party - it's good to be here.

Barney

Hello hello. I'm sure it'll be a pleasure.

Just to clarify, will you be the only guy in a hat? Is that like, on the terms of entry-I mean are you the only guy allowed to wear a hat? And if I turned up in one would I have to take it off?

Well Wilty that depends on the quality of your hat-hair. Generally these things are decided on the door by having a hat-hair comparison, with the worst offender being allowed to retain his headwear. I must warn you though that my particular brand of hat-hair is quite, quite spectacular...

Yep, no hat hair here, though the flesh-coloured chin straps play havoc with me beard.

Default Hello

Welcome aboard!

I'm a full-time copywriter. My passion is in music and making music, yet I write for a financial institution and most of the time, I dream of inserting random words such as 'willy' and 'tits' into expansive terms and conditions but never quite have the nerve to do so.

If you've got any freelancing bits and bobs coming up, or any publications which you'd take contributions to, then please let me know!
