I've just spoken to a singer/songwriter I'm working with who released their last EP through Tunecore and got this reply:

Quote:
It's fairly easy to set it all up. Amazon and some others were up and live within a week. Money is really easy to transfer once you've got royalties, though you have no real information about where it comes from etc unless you pay for it. Overall, I'd use it again, did the job nicely.

Folks, thank you very much for your prompt replies. I can see why the money is required upfront, but as I am sure you will understand, I am a little sceptical where companies ask for this.

I have also been digging into the net and found one or two interesting reviews. This one in particular seems to offer Tunecore glowing reviews: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/docum...?doc_id=102474 - and is just one of many.

I have also found lots of other sites reviewing Tunecore, including mentions on the BBC.

This is the information I was looking for so a big thank you once again. Time to give things a try.

Well, I've bookmarked the website.
Let us know Skywaves if you go for it and also how things pan out.

Will do Sphelan.

Looks like it can take more than a week before a song gets listed though - up to a month or so if you are really unlucky. I think the iTunes process can also hold things up a little: Delivery of stats, etc.

Time will tell.

Once things get rolling I will upload some short samples to my website and report back.

Cheers all.
