Hey folks

So....

The last five months of my life have been pretty consumed with a cool project that some of you might be interested in, being musos and all...

Anyway, the project is the brainchild of photographer-to-the-stars Rankin, and it's called "DESTROY." Basically, he's plundered his archive for photos of famous bands/musicians and also taken a bunch of new portraits of up-and-comers and the idea is that he gives lovely glossy copies of the pics to the artists in question and gets them to, well, quite literally 'destroy' them. The artists paint, tear, colour, cut, wreck, whatever... and the f*cked up results are going on auction for charity. There are some cool pics!

Artists taking part include U2, Michael Stipe, Marianne Faithfull, Debbie Harry, Jarvis Cocker, Alex James, Damian Hirst (yeah, not a muso, but he did a pic of the late Joe Strummer that's just awesome), Editors, Kylie Minogue, Little Boots, Andre 3000, The Feeling, Ian Brown, David Arnold, Kronos Quartet, and like, way more... there are over 70 in total, those are just the first ones I can remember off the top of my head.

So the shameless self-promotion bid here is that I did all of the video/audio post on the motion picture elements of the site - the full-screen intro video, the TV-style intro promo on the main page, and to find the rest you'll need to browse the Gallery.

Also, if you buy the book (only 1,000 copies total worldwide, and for only £45) it will come with a behind-the-scenes doco DVD with not-on-the-web footage that I did all the post on!

The most important thing is that this is all for a great music charity - one that puts music in the hands of young people - kids of all ages, and especially people who might not have access to it otherwise. They are genre-neutral, and a great organisation that really cares about what they do. Visit the main Youth Music site if you get a chance to see what they're up to.

In addition to all the free web content, the charity auction to buy/win the artwork there are also a couple intimate gigs in November by Little Boots and The Enemy in London, so check 'em out if you can. Every penny you spend on any of this stuff goes to a good cause.
