Default BBC : The story of the guitar

Only caught a bit of this earlier, and I'm not really into guitars.

But's its a really good and informed look at how they have developed as an instrument, and how people use them in different styles.

It's in 3 parts. This is the first one !

Amen to BBC Iplayer

BBC - BBC One Programmes - Imagine, The Story of the Guitar, In the Beginning

It was pretty interesting! I only saw about 20 minutes of it before my tiredness got the better of me but is well worth a look.

Next week's second half focuses on the electric guitar. However, as the trailers for last night's episode featured David Gilmour's solo from 'Time' I can only feel a bit misled.

Next Sunday I'll be watching Elbow at the Roundhouse, though, so I'll have to find it on the iPlayer sometime a week from now...!

Your IP address need to be either UK registered, or associated with a UK embassy, or a UK armed forces base

Shane, have a look in the Dj section about how to fake your IP address. Think the post is called Beatport Naughtyness .

See if the same trick works to fool the bbc site !

I watched it and thought it was pretty interesting to see where it came from. Wasn't expecting a Greek mythology link.

One of the reviews I saw for it afterwards was some guy pretty much going on about how it didn't go into the modern guitar, so I can't help feeling that that particular person is just impatient.
