Default Epiphone Casino and Vintage wilkinson VSA590

These two guitars are reissues of the well-known Epi casino, i've seen them for sale on DV247, anybody tried them both?

Which one is the best, in terms of playability and sound, knowing that the epiphone models on Dv are the Chinese made "new versions"?
I kinda figured Vintage guitars were pretty good axes for the price,
so is the Epiphone worth the reputation and the extra-money?

Thank you all

I'd have an Epiphone. Vintage brand guitars - some are OK, there are many reports of bad setups out of the box and allegedly they need a lot of love to make work. You get what you pay for.

If you can swing it, save up and get the John Lennon Inspired (or, if you can find one, the Elitist version) of the Casino. Much better electronics, and USA-made pickups.

There's also a big-money John Lennon version (1,800-ish) - that would obviously be the nicest choice, but I think the "inspired" version I linked to above is a great bang for the buck compromise.

Thanks for your advice whitecat, the Lennon inspired seems a great choice indeed, yet i'm starting to save some money for this one .
Still, is this model the same as the cheaper versions with upgraded hardware only? I mean the wood pieces and the neck profile are they the same as regular casino versions?

I agree my friend also have this kind of guitar, he said that John Lennon Inspired guitar sounds great, and the tuning is good.

I've been looking at the Casino for a while too.

The John Lennon inspired is, i think, exactly the same as the standard Epiphone casino only with better electronics. It's still the one i would go for though.
