Who cares. (But I do have a beautiful 1993 ebony necked studio _ from back when the studio was just a standard without binding - for sale...) ;-)

I'm interested if you also get the gibson les paul 2009 standard series for free when it's released.

Hi,

You seem to be in luck! There is a Les Paul 2008 Standard in stock!

Check this bad boy. .. And it's in Ebony, nothing sexier than a black Les Paul

They're such a boring guitar...

it's like fenders, bland and boring...

They may sound good, but the attraction just isn't there for me I'm afraid.

Liam, that's a big statement to call Gibsons and Fenders bland and boring.

I'd love to hear more, please elucidate!

And tell us what you like.

Yeah, you're right, It was a pretty general comment to make on reflection...

Obviously yeah, there are certain models that I like, I think the gibson explorer is beautiful and I like the double necked SG, that's really cool...
I used to have a les paul, but I dunno, i've just grown apart from the look of it...it seems every manufacturer has a model that copies it in someway..

I think that all the Fender guitars look the same, it's so boring looking through their catalogue, and you can never identify whether the guitar someone is playing is actually any good or not...the guitars that cost like 200 look exactly the same as the ones that cost 2000, don't you think? It's ridiculous!

I'm a fan of the old radical guitar designs, like the flying v and obv. the explorer..I guess i just want something new...y'know?

Playin an ESP EX400 at the moment, beautiful guitar with such a bluesy yet metally edge.

True, manufacturers have been coping Fender and Gibson shapes for years; this is because they are the best- aesthetically and ergonomically!

Think about the beginners. If we gave them B.C Rich guitars to learn on they would get nowhere, all beginners would start on a strat or p-bass, this would help to perfect technique mainly because of the anthropometrics, “it ain’t called Precision Bass for nuthin!”

I personally love the classic Fender designs. I’m a bass player for me a Jazz bass has to be the best looking bass around… I also have a Musicman (Thanks again Leo!)

When I pick up a guitar I would choose a Telecaster, they look great in any situation, Check this…

I don’t think you’d get away with playing an ESP EX400 at any gig other than a metal gig.

I couldn't disagree more mate, my friend started on a warlock and within a few weeks was playing acoustic style music, in fact the more radical guitar shapes give you more allowance when you're trying to get to the higher frets on the neck...

I had a Les Paul and it was murder trying to get to the higher frets, wasn't until I moved to an ESP guitar that I found out how easy lead guitar actually could be...his Warlock was also very easy to use.

So I think it's just person preference tbh...I don't think you can just rule out certain guitars for certain music, it's all in what sound you want.

I find my Explorer with EMGs really versatile, jazz, blues, acoustic stlye, pop, rock, metal...everything, it does it all...really really well...can really tell you haven't tried out too many guitars

Hope you can buy it right now as when they sell that one it's gonna go up by as much as £400... hopefully less, but Fender's instituted a massive price increase effective all new stock delivered as of March 1.

im never bothered by price increases by fender or gibson, not when youve got gordon smith making the finest guitars handmade in the uk !! , ive enough fenders to keep me going at the moment mate ! but id love a 52ri, may just have to put a stacked humbucker in my mim tele and an ashtray bridge and hey presto !!
