Exclamation Crikey! Credit crunch claims company, composer craving cash!

(brought to you by the letter C)

It's all over with my current gig, kids. Production company in administration! Trail of unhappy creditors a mile long and unpaid staff to boot.

Well, it actually was pretty much in late November but some things had been holding out (just) and have only now just given way. The World Financial Crisis(TM)(R) has put another ten people or so into unemployment... welcome to the future, it is bleak. For now.

Anyway, if anyone knows anyone who needs a low-end dubbing mixer (was doing mobile phone content/webTV but to "TV" standard), music-for-picture composer and/or general filmmaker (I have mucho picture editing experience and am a card-carrying UK Guild Of Television Cameramen member) please do get in touch!

Back to freelance life for me in the meantime.

See a few musical/sound design work samples here and get in touch if you need any other showreel material!

I was of course working with a team of talented people - designers, motion graphics/VFX/animators, directors, writers, producers etc so can hook people up with any of that as well as necessary.

might have some time now to get to work on that record I've always wanted to make, anyway!

Sorry to hear that T3. It must be quite a shock to the system. I really hope it for a good reason...i.e. that something even better is just around the corner. Hang in there, mate and good luck.

BTW - does this mean you will be around here posting more often now too?

Hmmm, good question. Depends if I need to spend any time looking for jobs or not!

Cheers though, things'll work out. My biggest problem is that I was employed full-time for so long that all my old freelance clients have packed up as well. I've discovered over the past couple weeks that absolutely none of them still exist.

This industry is going to feel some pain this year and I'm gonna be competing with a LOT of other folks for work!

+1 Paul. I love the community spirit around here (and I am being serious!).

Keep us posted T3...and if you find anything that we could all get into as a team...

Cheers, I hope so! Have picked up a bit of picture editing since the collapse, but it's not my main passion, it's just an aside that can keep me in food and Pro Tools 8 upgrades. That's done for now though and I'm a man of leisure at this specific moment in time.

Hey, nothing wrong with putting food on the table...I teach when all I want to do is make music...but I haven't found a rich woman to keep me in the lifestyle I DESERVE, and other than that I am more than happy with the one I've got...and the 17 month old hand luggage that's now attached! (can't believe I just called my own son "hand luggage"!!!! What's this crisis doing to us???).

Good luck for the future.

The current situation is an absolute nightmare.

Hopefully you will find enough work to get you through until something more permanent comes along.
