Default Open to collaboration

Howdy!
I'm mostly into dance music, having written most styles from commercial house to hardcore breaks and speedcore!
Mostly i'm just looking for some good producers or instrumentalists to get involved with. I like to write most things so chuck whatever you've got at me - i've done drums for metal tracks using ezdrummer, RnB, ambient music, piano acoustic - allsorts!
Basically i'm in it for the fun of writing music together.
I'd like to collab with almost anyone basically, as long as you're a good musician!
reply here and we'll sort something out
you can find my myspace (with my personal music) at MySpace.com - StrifeII - EP OUT NOW - SINGLES 85p - B31 Birmingham, England, UK - Alternative / Electronica - www.myspace.com/strifeii

cheers!

I'm reasonably good at guitar, and writing songs based around that (influenced very heavily by Muse, with some post rock and electronica thrown in for good measure). I'm also very keen on using unusual effects. Nothing like making a guitar sound nothing like it's supposed to.

I'd be up for a collab if we can work a good idea out.

I'm suprised this kind of thing did not really take off on the forums here. The thread is months old now...There seems to be many forum members interested in remixes but not collabs?

Or maybe this thread has been seen by so few?

Yeah good point. I guess collabs also work better with when those involved have the same host and tend to work in the same genre so maybe there are quite a few reasons why it has not really taken off here.

I would have been up for collabs a year or so ago, but a) need to be local, and b) like to get to know the person - and if they are to know ther location of my studio - that means know them pretty well for obvious reasons
- personality compatibility can make all the difference for one thing and the last thing I need is more chavs trying to break down the doors to nick stuff.

As it happens while we are not actively looking for people to work with, we are however very open to it, especially people we can get to know to some degree through forums such as this.

I agree you must get to know someone...but I wonder could one not collab by discussing what genre a track would be, arrangement e.t.c and even exchange files (via email) without the other person knowing where your studio was?

Yes...only time intially spent getting to know someone would reveal any personality clash...but see above still.
