Question What happened to link parsing?

I've noticed that links no longer post with their page titles automatically parsed, and I swear they used to. I checked, I definitely have 'Automatically parse links in text' checked when I post. I find it a bit more elegant when it's not a big http://blahblahmusicnerd.com/obscure...y/yousuck.html etc. but actually shows the page title instead. I know I can make my OWN link titles too but I'm lazy sometimes.

It was recently changed to not automatically parse within the system T3..
It's an admin, SEO issue which was necessary..

You know, that Google kind of place

parsing manually is easy. Just click on the Insert Link button and enter the web address you want to link to. When I entered www.google.co.uk I got;

[U R L="http://www.google.co.uk"]http://www.google.co.uk

I've inserted spaces at the beginning so you can see the code instead of the link. Then just change the bit in the middle;

[U R L="http://www.google.co.uk"]http://www.google.co.uk

[U R L="http://www.google.co.uk"]change this to be whatever you want

and you get this;

change this to be whatever you want

I thought it was always this way on DV's forum. I always use the insert link button and was not even aware of any changes. Maybe changes were made before I joined in September.
