Question Forum Announcements

Been giving some thought to the Forums general Announcements - Are you guys seeing them ok, and regularly..?

As things stand, they kinda occupy there own area that sometimes may be missed, especially by newer members. Plus, there is no current ability for you to comment on any specific announcement should you wish..

Thoughts please one and all......

yeah i didn't really see them at first but they are pretty easy to track down now once you know where to look. may be just have the announcements at the top but separated from the rest of the sub forums?

Yeh, once you know where they are, it's easy to look. But it's difficult to know when they are going to pop up there.

Maybe they could appear on the front page of everyone's CP until they've logged in and looked at them.

Personally I think they'd be better served as a regular forum section... however, you'd want to restrict the ability to *start* a thread to just moderators, but allow users to reply to them.

I think they could be made stand out more. Maybe like Dave says, as a forum section and one that would be seen above others.

I frequently use the 'New Posts' feature as opposed to actually clicking on forums, so they do show up there OK for me. I'd be happy either way.

That's how I usually "come across" them too.

+1 Good to see improvements being made when and where needed and also that our opinions are valued.
