Just a thought that struck me. I think it would be a good idea to have a new forum section (probably within the "Technique" category) called "Peer Review". Somewhere for people to post links to tracks they are working on that they either want reviewed or want mixing/arranging/mangling advice on. Given that we're all here as musician / engineers / DJs / producers we all want to know we have our music sounding as good as it can, or occasionally want that little bit of advice or a suggestion on how to solve something or even a little inspiration to clear a case of writer's block but don't know who to ask. I don't think it's necessary for the forum to cater for MP3 uploads as there are plenty of site on the net that can be linked to from a forum post... e.g. MySpace, Bebo, SoundClick or for mixes you don't want aired quite so publicly there's the likes of YouSendIt and other such services.
This is such an amenable community (and I've been on quite a few forums and not many are as amenable as this forum is!) that I think a "Peer Review and Advice" section would work well here. Thoughts anyone? ______________________________

+1 Dave.
I think that it would be a welcome section. I mentioned this as part of a possible remix workshop in the thread Remix advice?. Sureno has posted some of his work already, so I think a dedicated space would be very useful to those who are working on projects at the moment, and also to those who are starting out and are looking for tips and tricks to use. You've got my vote...where do I sign? |
