I have an Alesis 8 multimix usb device that has worked fine... I recently purchased Cubase 5 and am already frustrated with setting up my hardware. I have an Alesis 8 multimix usb device that has worked fine with all of my past recording software (with my past software the "plug and play" feature simply worked, without my having to set inputs or outputs.) However, I can only get Cubase to recognize my mixer as an output. In the VST connections screen output is set as ASIO DirectX Full Duplex Driver, and the output to the mixer is working perfectly. However on the input tab ASIO DirectX Full Duplex Driver is an option but when i click on it nothing happens, Audio device still says "not connected."
