Hi,

I've been asked to provide a solution that allows the stereo output from a laptop to be connected to be connected to a single xlr input. I already have a passive mixer that will take the stereo to mono and a suitable cable but the problem is the xlr is also used for a condenser mic and has phantom power applied to it.

Does anyone know of a simple in-line isolator that could be attached to the cable to isolate the phontom power from the laptop?

Thanks

Stewart

Hi there. Hope you experts can help. I have never done a PA system. My background is high-end home stereo system. One of my dear dear dear customer wants me to install an reliable commercial PA system that would be used 18 hours a day.
His office as 3 areas: A, B, and C
Each area is no bigger than 20'x6'
He wants to do the following:
A can talk to B, C, or Both
B can talk to A, C, or Both
C can talk to A, B, or Both

I was thinking of using DBX ZC3, gooseneck microphone, DBX Zonepro 641m and (2) 8 ohm speakers at EACH LOCATION. I am lost at what amplifier to use.

What would you recommend? Which goosenect microphone? Which amp? Any other system? Thanks so so so much.

Hi,
Looking to completley overhaul my "beginner" PA system. Current:

1x T.AMP 2400-MX amp
2x The Box 15" 630W Peak FR
1x The Box 18" 1200W Peak sub
Small Behringer mixer & cables

Looking to get the following hopefully within £1200 (after vat)

New mixer (something that is slant rack mountable)
2x new mid-highs (15" with ~ 1200W peak)
1x sub (18" with ~1600W peak)
1x amp for mid-highs, 1x amp for sub
1x crossover (is there much point considering what I've said below?)

It seems that Behringer kit fits the bill, however what kind of quality difference will I notice when I change from The Box speakers to Behringer speakers? Should there be an increase?

Cheers

I haven't been around long... but long enough to know that these kinda queries tend to repeat, have checked a few pages back, but can't see anything on this...

I'm looking to grab to pair an NT-1a with an M-Audio Tampa (when I have enough to buy both these), but am wondering if anyone's had experience with both these mics and how they compare?

Basically, does the price difference represent a reasonably well proportioned difference in quality between the two...?
