This is what FXpansion say:

While the sounds are from the world of marching and orchestral percussion, they are very useful in any type of music. For example, the tonal bass drums are floor-shaking alternatives to 808 kick drums, for making huge sub basses and storming grooves. The orchestral chimes and timpani are capable of full melodic lines, and are ideally suited to creative sound design and film work. Marching snares tend to be very cutting and are useful for all kinds of mixes. Quad toms are good for alternative tom sounds or percussive uses. The Brake drum is perfect for latin street percussion grooves, and the cymbals are useful for all kinds of applications. The suspended cymbals don't have a cymbal stand to dampen their vibrations, so they ring out longer and undisturbed compared to regular drumkit-based cymbals.

They must have gotten bored of the emails complaining about how expensive and crippled LE was. So they've lifted some of the restrictions, called it Intro and offered it as a free update to registered LE users.

The biggie.......it lets you rewire. Altho still no complex warp mode. Or REX file support. But its a big improvement over LE anyway !

If I'd known this was coming, I might not have sold it and bought suite 8:bbblink:

The Novation Launchpad is now in stock. All customer pre-orders will be shipped from our warehouse on Monday 2nd November.

Considering the Novation Launchpad was announced October 1st, Novation have really delivered!

It's an interesting trend that more manufacturers are now shipping on the day of announcing new gear or within 1-2 months of the first press release.

Historically, most products have been announced at trade shows such as NAMM and then typically shipped within 6-9 months. I guess the internet has given the manufacturers the confidence that they can create enough market awareness to start manufacturing on a mass scale even before they send the first press release!

I've just been reading the blog, and was wondering if you were planning on chucking out any more bits of hardware/software for us lovely members to review, with a view to posting on the blog, now that it's up and running.

I remember the splendid Mopho review that was posted after you loaned one out, and am quite keen to read more of the same user reviews by us forumers.
