AKAI MPC Masterclasses 2008 at DV Stores

Andy Mac from Akai UK is touring Digital Village stores.

Andy will be hosting MPC Masterclasses across all DV stores but you set the agenda.



DV invites anyone who is interested in attending a FREE MPC masterclass to use this forum thread to help decide the content of the MPC workshops. Please feel free to tell us what topics you would like covered e.g. what is the best way to use the MPC with Logic?

The first date confirmed is DV Bristol on Wednesday 23rd July. As always, free beverages will be provided by Digital Village. Please contact DV Bristol to reserve which sessions you would like to attend once they have been decided! Or just contact any store and register your interest and we will contact you with the final list of sessions and confirmed dates.

Hi Guys I'm Andy Mac from Akai uk. Some of you have probably seen me at tradeshows and underground events we have recently been holding so let me tell you what's in store for our DV Masterclass tour.

All you need to know about MPC'S

Have you ever wondered how you can make your drum sound professional like a record and how to work a groove and how this is all done from a MPC. Well here is your chance.

I'm taking people on a class with a step by step approach on why you should buy a MPC and incorporate it into your DAW studio (cause making tracks will never be the same again)

I will be showing you how to remix a vocal and how to add punch to your drums without the need out outboard so the hard work is done before the mix.

I will be also talking about and sharing tricks & tips and secrets that I have developed and used on countless records.

is it possible too video the events and post them on here so we can see and hear the advice given .it,d be a great help for all of us who are working those days or like myself i can only buy from your online stores because your normal stores are too far away too get to the events.

Presuming from out discussion at http://forums.dv247.com/forum-feedba...os-forums.html these events will be available to forum members who can't make the trip to the masterclasses. Right ndk?

Confirmed Dates:

DV West London: Thursday 2nd October (Re-scheduled for Tuesday 7th October)
DV Southampton: Wednesday 8th October
DV Cambridge: Thursday 16th October
DV Retail Warehouse (Romford): Thursday 30th October
DV Clapham: Thursday 23rd October. Re-scheduled for Thursday 13th November. New date!!
DV North London: Re-scheduled for Thursday 20th November. New date!!



The masterclasses last 1 hour and will start at 2pm and 4pm. Please contact the store manager at each location to reserve your place and register which session you would like to attend. If you e-mail the local store address with your registration request, the manager will confirm by return. FREE beverages will be provided by Digital Village! We are planning a DV Birmingham event but have yet to confirm the date.

I'm looking forward to the integrating into your DAW feature, as I've always generally used the MPC as a live tool to drive a click to the drummer on more technology heavy songs.

Any news on when the Brum masterclass may be? I'll have to plan in advance to ensure I'm not using my night-out token that particular week with the missus

does any1 know if their is going to be 1 of these classes in bristol at all? i know a fair few people who would attend and really appreciate it if their was.... cos were all thinkin bout tryna trek to london just for the hour session!
can any1 let me know the thoughts/plans (if any) on bristols?

The Bristol date has already been mate. If there is enough interest for another Bristol date it may get added. I will make some enquiries for you.
