Default Attaching stuff to racks

Hi!

I've got one of these racks (it's 1.5" tubing). It's currently got my TrapKAT attached and I'd like to add on a Korg NANO Kontrol (12.60"(W) x 3.23"(D) x 1.16"(H)).

So I'm after some ideas on where to get rack arms, clamps, etc. that will let me mount the Kontrol on the left or right uprights.

Cheers!

You should be able to "adapt" a pair of rack clamps, or get hold of a pair of Hart Dynamics Alesis module mounts:

Or perhaps get a T-Clamp and a short bar to mount on the top of one of your rack's uprights... a strip of wood bolted to the short bar would give you a flat platform that you could velcro the Nano onto.

Like I say, it's more "where to get" than what to get. Are there no UK suppliers?

I notice a lack of detail on the dimensions of the Hart gear...

Well, a search fro "rack clamp" on google will bring up a selection of places selling what you're after... or phone a DV shop and ask them, if they don't stock it they'll try and source it for you.

Just about any drum shop will sell T-Clamps for drum racks... the 1.5" diameter is the standard size for drum racks whether they're made of aluminium or steel.

Oddly, I've done that.

The reason I'm asking is for other people's opinions.

... and not so oddly ... the trouble is, it's not exactly "good form" to go providing links to rival music shops on a DV forum... hence the suggestion to google it. For more specific suggestions I would propose you peruse the forum at vdrums.com.

You might also be lucky enough to find someone who owns one of the popular Millenium MPS300 aluminium drum racks (same one as provided with the Alesis eDrum bundle) as they were originally provided (by the big German music shop) with mounting clamps for both Roland and Alesis sound modules... the Alesis option being a pair of collar clamps with flat edges to attach rack ears (to which a DM5 would be attached). If you can find someone who only uses the Roland option they should have a spare pair of the Alesis option clamps... a pair of these could be easily used to attach a flat surface upon which to mount your Nano.

To be fair, I provide a link to an image. You'd have had to try quite hard to get to the shop...

Thanks for the info on the MPS300 -- I'll take a look on (*well known auction site*) to see if there are any spare bits going.
