I allways keep finding myself torn between persusion loops that aint quite what Im after and hours of tweaking to make them so and the pain of micing up real percussion here, and noticed the HPD-10 recently.
Well actually I noticed it ages ago, but for some reason just assumed it was just another hand drum thing for doing normal drums until I found this demo: Does anyone use one for ethnic recording percussion? Any comments on it, playablility, sounds and particular how well you can record midi off it and play it back thorugh it - ie can its midi implementation do a good job of reproducing what you played? |

I love that, im sick of trying to program bongo/congo loops with my keyboard and this looks like hours of fun outside my local tube station

I have a couple of boxes still in storage in Ireland containing djembes and other hand drums and getting them over is the next task...but having seen this...it looks like the perfect solution!
Where are the comments from existing users? |

How fortuitous.. Have you guys checked this thread out about the forthcoming DV/Roland V-Drum day at the East London Retail Warehouse V Drums Masterclass?
Michael Schack was mentioned in the video above as performing on the HPD-10.. So surely he'll be bringing one on this day.. and surely you, our lovely members can have a play too.. What say you Jeremy? ______________________________
