Default What am I doing wrong (Traktor...)???

Got my copy of Traktor Duo through yesterday (thanks DV!!!).
I had bought EKS XP10's in anticipation (and got a damn good deal on a pair of them), and a battered old Numark mixer to run them off.
One of the selling points of the XP10 for is the built in soundcards and plug and play capability, instant and seemless integration with an external mixer and your computer. Yeah-right. What it doesn't say is that point is rendered entirely moot by the fact that you can only have one audio device in Traktor so you can't have the 2 xp10s running a deck each and then output and monitor from your main soundcard. This is my fault for not researching this properly and jumping the gun with crazy purchases (it was ebay and time was ticking away). If anyone has a solution for this it would be grand, but this is not my issue.

My issue is more irritating. When I plug my XP10s in (I'm using my main DAW as I have space constraints) Windows throws the little boxes up, one after the other; 'found new hardware xp10, found new hardware xp10, found new hardware USB speakers (which I assume is the soundcard in the XP10), found new hardware USB speakers' so I know they're sending signal.
I've imported the .tsi for the XP10 from the folder like it says in the getting started manual and nothing. Traktor will not recognise the XP10s at all.
I'm new to Traktor so may be missing something fundimental?

i havent touched a windows machine in ages but do you may be need a generic driver for them if they dont come with one already, have you read the troubleshooting page in their manual and as for generic drivers i believe there is one called "asio4all"?

any one else care to chime in as im pretty much well out of my depth now

I meant to say actually; in the setup screen I selected the xp10 from the dropdown menu and it puts me into the preferences screen with EKS ASIO in the audio driver section but it has 'Not Connected' in brackets next to it, even though they're plugged in and have been recognised by windows so I know they're working, otherwise I'd have thought it was the hardware.

AHA! Eureka. I delved a little deeper and turns out they're only plug and play with the Bison software. Serves me right for being all in an excited hurry. Will try this tomorrow.

When you plug them in do you let Windows do it's inevitable 'driver search' several times even though you've already installed the software? I say this because I often have to do this for whatever new peripheral I install. It can go through the same routine several times before you eventually get the 'hardware is installed and ready to use' box.

It's also worth trying different USB ports as some of them will be on a different, and sometimes better suited buss.

Windows generic sound drivers are rubbish btw, ASIO4ALL works much better if it applies in this case.

I know, windows did a driver search about 15 times for my midisport. Nah, I think its because I didn't bother with the EKS website support as they were sold as plug n play. My fault entirely. For the moment anyway. No doubt in a few days I'll be back with new tales of woe.

The only thing i've ever bought that was truly plug and play was a weapons grade dildo.

Everything else is a lie.

Its weird how I did not think to check the EKS website until I thought I'd done everything (bar going to NI, often less helpful than syphillis).
For some reason it installed Service Centre again too, so now I have 2 instances on my DAW, instead of just adding Traktor to the exsisting instance. At least offline activation worked this time. NI need a kick in the arse methinks, just for being themselves hehe.
