XP series looks cool, would be nice if they did it with/without the a/i option. is there a demo of this floating in any of the DV stores?

Agreed on the a/i option choice Sureno..
And of course for those boys who haven't been that well behaved, there's always the cheaper option.. http://www.dv247.com/invt/49690/

yeah the XP5, very nice, not sure if id rather have 2 XP5's though??? they have a rack for them 2, i think as for the a/i option when its been released this option should follow like the XP10 did with the addition of the a/i.

I see DV have this on pre order, have you had a chance to see one in advance

the first ones will be in with us next week..

I've yet to try a final version but the earlier units we had were rather nice.

They're going to have a Matt finish option soon and the OTUS RAW will be available sometime in 2009 - these are less highly spec'd units where the intention is that you'd have 2 of them.

We'll get a demo unit to the guys at DV when we can but the first batch is all sold.

Cheers

Exclamation

Ok so im actually looking to get this soon as, may be even the shiney one if the matt version is too long a wait BUT where is

the volume control
and X fader

for it to work with just a lap top surely these are fundamentals iv wayched all the vids but cant quite suss it? i know you can use it with a mixer but the fact just a laptop and 1 otus is needed to control 2 decks is what appealed to me???

Otus is intended to replace the deck, so x-fader duties remain with your mixer as does the volume - i've not tried it yet but you would probably be able to assign some of the controllers to work these functions if you wish, but that's not the intention. The XP5 has a couple of different .tks files for different applications and this would be possible with Otus.

Otus fits exactly on top of a 1210 deck (look at the cut outs on the feet) and there is a hole on the underside for the spindle of the deck to sit in. you have two seperate analog/digital outs to be fed into your mixer - you'll see in the video's that the centre bottom button determines which deck you're on and changes the back-lighting accordingly.

I don't have a date on the matt units yet so they maybe a while..

Cheers
