Wow...Ritchie Hawtin goes into incredible detail. Granular details. The production quality of the videos is extremely high.

Well its certainly prettier - seems way more CPU intensive, though thats probably because I told it to run with HQ settings.

Its re-analysiing my colections - Ugh - audio went all distorted and crackly when I tried to have a play at the time time - V3 used to does both quite happily - oh well, but it could just be the effect of the HQ setting, though this is a fairly fast laptop.

Other half says its got nice colours on there, but not as clear - I set her on baby sitting the re-analying etc

Visually it does seem more cluttered, the second thing I noticed clicking around - position move tools are now selectable on the deck which is really nice for quickly measuring out a track (64 bars before a good in point for eg to quickly work out a nice smooth transition) and loop lengths are more easier mouse selectable. I havnt had a chance to check if any of the VCI-100 mappings have changed yet.

One thing that struck me as odd - it asks you to enter a Traktor Pro and Traktor Pro Scratch key, obviously only enabling what you have keys for - erm - I thought both were one and the same now, and all I needed for scratch was the Audio 8 and timecode vinyl/CDs...

Naturally I havnt even looked for the manual yet - oops!

Will post more as I get into it - but will wait until its done re-analyising first at this seems to be flogging this 2.4Ghz/4GB core duo laptop (which is a suprise!).

Huge groan as Ive just finished runnning everything through MIK v4 today.

.... Sometimes I just love the simplicity of CDJs and good old turntables - just me, my decks and I - and no damn computer!
