Default Cubase, Disc cache overload

I keep getting this and it causes audio to cut in and out. Doing my nut in!

What could be causing it?

It's not a buffer size problem like last time, i know that for a fact.

Any ideas? It seems to overload when i rewind or fast forward the audio. That's when it does it the most anyway. It's causing havoc.

Edit: It actually seems to be doing it when i rewind only. Why would that be?

None of my hard drives are anywhere near full so I am at a loss.

on a mac/protools you'd dump the prefs and zap the p-ram (I'm not sure how to do that one cubase/pc I'm afraid)

EDIT: google (and GS) is your friend:
google "purge disc cache cubase"
