Default Need help with Cubase :(

I have just installed cubase 5 onto my Windows vista PC and im having trouble getting it too read my mixer. When i started it up it came up with a message saying audio recording was not available due to something about having the wrong sound card but i though my mixer should solve this problem. Im using a PV20 USB mixer which is usually used on logic on a mac if this makes any difference? So basically, how can get Cubase to read my mixer as the input?

Check your preferences, in the asio driver section make sure your soundcard/mixer and not the default duplex driver is selected.
At the bottom of a rather steep Learning Curve (I like Brackets).
