I wasn't entriely sure where to put this so if you want to move it....But it involves cubase so i thought it was apt.
Anyway, i have a problem with my keyboard in cubase, i have the M-Audio Keystation 61es and am trying to use it in Cubase Studio4 although on the control panel and windows it says it's recognised and is working properly it doesn't do a thing in cubase.....Anyone any ideas how to sort this out? Cheers in advance! |

is the keyboard selected on the left hand side of the channel you wise to use it on?
its a easy mistake to do .you can also check your midi input is regisering in cubase on the channel your using does a coloured meter br go up nd down ?if it does it just needs the correct input device selected in the channel.if no bar is shown then youll need to go into your preferences and click on midi then click on the midi device you want to use .. |

You have to set it up inside cubase so they talk to each other.
Trouble being that anything below version 5.1 means C.Base doesn't remember your assignments. ie: Quick controls & vst instruemnts:vsti's. The bug may have been fixed now but this is according to "Sound On Sound" this month so I wouldn't hold out. I spent hours doing the configs & then when I would load another project it wouldn't remember anything! ![]() Good luck. |

sorry mate but every version ive used of cubase remembers to list the things youve set up.when i start up cubase sx3/4/5.1 on the left hand side it always gives me the option to use either my akai mpd24/korg ms20/novation remote zero/or midi yamha cs1x ..ive never herd of any bug that wont store your settings in cubase the only bug i know about is the way cubase 5 wont save your screen preferences but all audio inputs/midi,usb inputs are saved correctlly for me if you are having problems start with a new blank arranger page set it up how you useally have it then go into the preferences set them up then save it as a template.
make sure that after any changes you click ok/save or nothing will get saved and will reset everytime you restart cubase |

No the bar doesn't move at all. Also part of the problem is that even though in windows the keyboard is recognised, in cubase it doesn't seem to realise my keyboard is there at all....So i really have no clue why it's doing this.
I had this same problem before when i first got the keyboard but i managed to sort it out before (using the exact same equipment) so i have hope there is something that can be done. I just can't remember what i did last time! But keep the posts coming and i'll keep trying! Cheers! |
