hi dave ive opened mine and this is what it says..

<string name="Group" value="TransportWindowController"/>
<member name="Values">
<obj class="UPoint" name="Location" ID="157273160">
<int name="H" value="769"/>
<int name="V" value="868"/>
</obj>
<int name="State" value="2"/>
</member>
</item>

ive opened it in notepad and ill copy and paste your values over the top and see if it makes a difference..the values in both of ours are way way off each other.

ok just edited the xml file and saved it ill be trying it out lots today to see if the transport bar starts acting weird again.if it was the values that are wrong then it could be a conflict between the resolution on my monitor and the default settings im thinking this because the only way ive managed to get the transport bar back if this ever happened before was to minimize cubase 5..goto my man screen go into properties lower the resolution click apply then goto the medium resolution click apply then goto my useall resolution and the transport window appears well a little bit of it shows up in the corner just enough for me to grab it to the center then i maximise cubase 5 and its there..clicking on the show my transport bar has no effect when it disappears.

for any other readers having this problem do as dave suggested check your default.xml file in your application data file ,open with word pad then to find it uickly go into the munus at the top click on search then a box appears and paste in TransportWindowController and itll find and show it too you see if youve got the same values as dave because daves had no problems with these faults ive been having..

im also only using one monitor ive read people with two monitors correctly set up arnt having these graphical problems..

big thanks to you dave i owe you a big drink bud

No no no... don't use my values, they are for a dual 1920x1200 TFT setup with the primary screen on the right, which explains why the "H" value is negative in my setup. Try something like "100" for both H &V values as this should put the transport bar at 100 pixels in from the left and 100 pixels down from the top of your main screen

well ive been using cubase 5 for a few hours now and the transport bar still vanishes and now it wont come back at all.the transport bars ok for maybe 2 hours then all of a sudden it will vanish and wont reappear even though ive pressed f2 and set it too always stay on top it still goes away and wont come back.well it was still worth a try i think the values are what the default position of the transport bar once you open or start a new song not too actually keep it were it is at all times.

I've had this issue as well. I've got certain projects the mother f&cker just disappears from.

Then if I load an older project, it's there. Very odd.

Only a couple of projects. Cubase 5 is a pain with all this resizing and disappearing.

Try loading an older project, Waxxy. That works for me.

But once it's gone from a project, it's very much gone. Nightmare. Pressed F2, etc. always on top etc. but to no avail.
