Default MusicTech Focus....

132 pages of pure Cubase!
Cost me 8 of my hard earned pounds which may prove to be not worth it but on paper it could well be a decent investment, especially for someone like myself who is still learning and need hints and sometimes flat-out telling what to do.
Time will tell, but thought I'd put it out there.
And its out there.
I put it.

sounds like a good investment to me! Even if you only get one good idea from it, it's good value IMO.

Two words:- Worth It.

For me at least. I am generally a bit out of my depth anyway and couldn't quite wrap my head round anything but basic routing and whatnot (having dived into 'production' with basically zero previous knowledge behind me) and this mag actually cleared some of that up for me-in general, not just in Cubase. But it gets into things the manual assumes you already know (the Cubase4 manual is both the most condesending and complex thing I've read. At the same time) as well as explaining all the new bits that weren't in previous itterations. So yeah-not trying to sell it or anything but probably worth a look to most Cubase 4 users. If you find it on a bus or whatever and don't have part with a pint of blood or something in order to get it all the better.

I'm not familiar with this mag as it's not available here in sunny Spain.

What's it like? Is it in the same vein as Computer Music or Future Music or lean more towards the Sound on Sound style? Looking at the website it looks more like the former. It also has a style/typography which reminds me of a mag I got on a few occassions called Digital Music Maker. I didn't think much of that one at all. Are they possibly the same mag?

I see there are issues on Logic and Reason...any good?

To be fair though I think a lot of people will be waiting to upgrade until the people that bought the upgrade (or as I shall call them 'beta testers') have given it a 'thumbs' in either direction. I know thats what I'll be doing. Hopefully stability won't be an issue and I hope they keep ironing out the few bugs left in C4 for the people like me.
