Well over a month has passed since T3 posted the "Logic Pro Tips n' Tricks thread" and no one has put up similar threads for the DAW of their choice so i will start a Cubase one you lazy cretins! i am not going to start others as it would be nice for actual users to start them, ah-hem Shane or Monarch could may be do Sonar, Conar j do Abelton etc. I have how ever used Cubase for a year or so, so thats why im starting this one

Best tip I can give for Cubase users.
BUY LOGIC Nah not really. But once I have my UAD 2, I will be using my pc/cubase setup again. Give me a couple of days, and I'll start posting up some tips and help here ![]() |

Thanks for posting these vids Sureno. I've not been a Cubase user for a while now and certainly not seen Version 4 in action. It looks to be a huge improvement on previous incarnations, to the point where I would say that most DAWs are pretty similar now.
I looked at the Protools site the other day and they have also added tools found previously on other platforms. I suppose it's all in the battle to stay in the game. No one company owns a particular method, just the way it is coded. |

yeah its essentially what D.A.S has the best workflow for the user, i mean great tracks where made on an old Atari, they are ALL more than capable of producing Pro tracks

I rate Media bay very highly....but don't hear much about it. At some point I think other DAWs might adopt the way Cubase manages media. ACID Pro has a very similar feature that allows you to tag sounds but Media Bay is much deeper than that.
The tagging available in C4 is quite advanced. One could build up a huge library of presets very easily with Media bay and it even caters for video files, one shots, Cubase project files, midi e.t.c. Impressive. ![]() |

Having said that this happens all the time where system configs, some unknown hardware or software issue / bug on one system will not appear on another. I remember seeing all sorts of different experiences (good and bad) with 4.00...4.1 e.t.c on Steinbergs forums. It has always been that way with pretty much every software package out there. Hopefully 4.5 addresses the problems you and many others have had. |
