Talking How do I step up from this interface?

At the moment I have a lambda lexicon desktop recorder:

I only need 2 simultaneous channels (mic and keyboard) so I'd rather get something that has about the same number of inputs.

All I am looking to do is improve the quality of my recording to get it up to a high standard. I don't really want to spend more than 250.

Cheers!

The Apogee Duet is the best interface in its class. Its 100 more then your budget, but the pre's are incredible.

My advice is save another 100, and get the Duet, they're seriously worth the money.
