Default Apple updates macbook, mac mini and Imac product lines !

Sneaked these out...not that much fuss about them !

The macbook now sports more macbook pro like features. Unibody design, that fixed in battery...but once again Apple have removed the Firewire port without adding anything to replace it. A 3rd USB would have been nice.
They've also stopped options on selecting which cpu you can have...

Update to the mac mini as well.

Biggest update has to be the Imac though. The 27 inch version is getting on for macpro performance and costs. It will appeal to Graphics types more then anyone else, due to the fact that is has a lot of raw power for rendering and a better then HD screen spec for viewing on.

Wonder what the next mac pro models will be like... if this is anything to go by...jaw droppingly fast is the answer !

Six cores per processor, in all likelihood.

Sounds almost beast-like.

If only i could afford to invest in a new machine.

Well, you won't need to afford it until at least January.

I wouldn't buy a new Mac Pro at the moment unless I really absolutely couldn't do without. The next speedbump, again, is going to be epic.

Probably less so in the Macbook Pros though. The next mobile chipset ("Arrandale") is definitely faster but it's not going be stupid-faster.

It's always been like that though, and more so now. Whatever you buy is going to be outdated in 6 months time. Thankfully for me i don't need anything stupidly powerful ('tho it'd be nice), my current set up is just under what i'd like it to be (3.06Ghz iMac). It probably won't be until later next year before i can afford to invest in a desktop again though so hopefully that's when the new even-better-than-before processors are released.

Amazing the speeds they're getting now though. I can't even comprehend what it'll be like in 10 years time!
