Default Mackie MCU expander

OK, so I got 8 new faders for my Mackie MCU Pro but I can't make channel1 correspond to fader 1 - the Mackie MCU main bit always takes tracks 1-8. Does anyone know how to alter it so the expander takes control of tracks 1-8.
I'm using Logic 8.
