Default How about something like these?

Hi there

You might like to take a look at this

PreSonus FireStudio Project 24-bit/96K Professiona at DV247.COM

Focusrite equivalent

Focusrite Saffire Pro 10 I/O Professional 10 In / at DV247.COM

or this if you might want to have 16 or 24 tracks

PreSonus Firestudio Firewire Audio Interface at DV247.COM

or Focusrite equivalent

Focusrite Saffire Pro 26 I/O Multi-Channel Firewir at DV247.COM

Watch out for driver problems with any of these though, use the forums to which one would be most suited to your set-up/computer

Ask the tec guys at dv247 for advice

Cheers
Anton

Default Any of them can cause trouble!

Hi there

It is a sad reflection on many top name suppliers that their driver/software package often fails to do its job very well

If you look on the respective forums you will see that a percentage of customers have some form of problem

As far as Preamp types go the 'word on the street' is Focusrite, closely followed by PreSonus with Motu trailing a long way behind but remember the sound of a pre is like the sound of a mic or monitor speaker, its a very subjective and personal thing

Cheers

Hey Definity,

At your price range I would take a look at the RME Fireface 400. Converters are arguably the best under £600 and the mic pres are pretty decent too. Drivers are rock solid unless you're on a new Apple Imac.

You could also have a look at the TC Electronic Konnekt interfaces which have had same rave reviews and again great converters and mic pres. They had issues with their drivers early on but haven't heard of any problems recently.

Hope that helps...
