Default Using A Power Amp For Bass

Been a while since I posted anything so I though I might as well address the masses regarding my latest quandry;

I'm getting shot of alot of my equipment, 2 basses and my amp which I'm looking to substitue for a "minimalist" set up, I've been looking at using a power amplifier for my bass for a few months, my reasoning behind this is that I want something with total clarity, punch and LOTS of headroom.

I've been told I should look at the numark dimension 3....

Can anyone think of a reason why this would be an awful idea?

Tom
