Actually, that's probably true. You have John Entwistle's bass, and you've played the part of Steve Harris, sort of, once...

James Jamerson
John Entwistle
Geddy Lee
Mark King
Victor Wooten
Marcus Miller

The List goes on...

Why is it unfashionable to like Flea? the guy is a great bass player- you can't doubt that!

There are too many... But I can't say Cliff Burton is on my list to be honest, why don't you stick Fieldy on the list while your at it? Haha! I'm Kidding Sorry LiamK89.

As far as my tastes go, I'd put Tony Levin very high on any list. I'd also include Nick Beggs in there somewhere.

I think it's safe to say every bass player has played 'Dune Tune'. I played it for my GCSE performance and got an A... Then again in College at AS Level and got another A!

You can't loose!

Glad to say I've still got a reasonably definitive full collection of Level 42 12" vinyls.. What a band.. Last I heard, Mike (keys) Lindup's still quite active too..

Man Cliff was epic! Need to listen to "Anaesthesia (Pulling Teeth)" off Metallica's album Kill 'em All! Plays that thing like a bitch!
And I didn't just say best bassists, people's favourites as well.

Depends what style you like I suppose, I'm not really that into the classical or really jazzy solo bass stuff, it's an instrument that's definitely better in context.
