Default Help With Sorting The Acoustics In My Room

Hiya,

I would be very grateful for some help in sorting out the acoustics in room. I currently use the room to teach guitar in, but want to use it for recording and mixing too now.

Is it possible to have the room set up to be great for mixing and getting a good crisp acoustic guitar sound ?

Also where should i place my monitors and my computer plus my seating position in relation to the window/radiator etc ? is it best to be facing the window ?

What absorbtion / diffusion would be good ?

I will attach the dimentions of my room.

Thankyou very much in advance for any help

Ben

Still on iPhone. Basically start by treating the corners with superchunks (see my thread on small room acoustics. I promise I'll post more when I get on a pc next!

Face the window. Trap all four corners, floor to ceiling if possible with 4" bass traps or corner-filling traps. Put 2" or 4" panels at the first reflection points and on the ceiling above the mix positions. Put a couple of 6" bass traps on the back wall. The back corners are a little wonky, so if you need to skip them you can always straddle the wall/ceiling corners (where the back wall meets the ceiling) in the back of the room.
