Default Automation in Live???

Is it me? for the life of me i cant seem to work out how to create a smooth curve in automation or for that matter a smooth gradient increase or decrease? i have to remove the grid lock and use the pencil but its a bit messy???

Not sure what you mean, but if you just mean a straight line there must be a line tool in an automation lane?

This guy has a few tutorials in Live and I'm pretty sure this is the one he delves into some automation :-

Might be worth a look.

I had just recently watched it myself because I couldn't find the red line.......

I've been having a go with it - only the limited lite version - rather than the demo.

I get the concept and how it all works - at a basic level - and I've watched about a dozen videos on the basics.

I can see why the loop brigade would like it and how it would appeal for live users.

I think that session view and scenes etc was what threw me back in the day - it's not natural, I tell thee

Not for what I do. Although, I could use a simple programme for most things.

Sonar looks massive in terms of what you can actually do with just about everything and I'm nowhere near using that to its full potential.

I looked at this as a rewire too but I'll need to investigate that more as I couldn't hear or do certain things and there's not a lot of help about. Hardly any company ever writes 'how to do it in Sonar' - we are outcasts. I've found some though.

I think if you do loop stuff though, it seems really easy to set up and if you learn it and use a control surface then you could really create some great sounding tunes.
