That a trick question fella? :-)
Anyways, for sure, Ableton Live 7 ranks as one of the best live and studio applications available. Many world class DJ's and Musicians use this program for actual DJ'ing, performing, overdubbing and generally 'mashin' it up' in super solid real-time. The possibilities for its use are profoundly unlimited, really.. Imagine you're a solo musician, dropping live performances over a multi-track backing, dropping things in and out of the mix, adding funked-up FX, integrating perfectly looped samples..slowing it down..speeding it up.. get the picture!?! World class DJ's such as The Freemasons, Coldcut, Daft Punk, Paul Van Dyk, Soulwax and Sasha use the program for live dj sets to mix between tracks, often dropping in their unique percussion, acapellas, music and FX to almost 'remix' their live performance- which takes the art of DJ'ing to the next plateau.. The above just scratches the surface of what this remarkable piece of software is capable of. Yeah Ableton is awesome for live situations, its also really good if your into splicing beats by eye rather than taking the DrRex approach of programming slices via midi. The only annoying thing, which may have been rectified now as i havent used live since V.5, is that sometimes it calculates BPMs wrong and can be a pain to rectify if your trying to warp audio.

I use it in the studio and on stage.
It's versatile and stable and that's why it's a brilliant host sequencer for live performance. After all, it was originally developed as a 'live sequencer'. Live's flexibility has secured its position as possibly the greatest live performance software available. IMO, the greatest feature to Live when being used on-the-cuff, as it were, is how easy it is to add effects, or swap their positions. The key and midi map functions are a godsend on stage too. ______________________________

I think this is one of the most radical ways to use Live.
