Yeh, unfortunately Kore doesn't work that way. It has it's own arpeggiator and sequencer modules that you can add to different channels though; and it has a host clock, or will sync to your host sequencer.
Think of it as a really modular plugin. They need to iron out a few creases, but it'll run perfectly fine in most circumstances (unless you're like me, and what to know if it can act like a live sequencer - then it takes a beating).
What I suggest you do is download the demo and figure out what it does for yourself;
I was a little confused with the purpose of Kore before I bought the package. It should certainly advance your understanding of Kore, and help you determine whether it'd be a good purchase.
