I think I probably worded the question in the wrong way in the initial post.

I've never tried to find a cookie cutter fix to whatever i'm trying to do, and I can't really control the input chain as parts are being sent to me via email.

It's not that I dislike your answer as I believe you to be correct. It's not an answer to my original (possibly badly worded) question however.

We all do music in different ways and for different reasons though. I shall continue to learn from your vast experience.
