If you want metal tones then id look into the low end Randall as although their cleans are pretty naff you do get a pretty hefty distortion. Theres nothing wrong with Marshalls MG Series, I have the MG50DFX and its a cracking amp, great on the clean and the distortion packs a decent punch!
