Right i'm gonna come clean; i know next to nothing about sound cards, but enough to know that i'm not getting the full potential out of my genelecs' by using a budget m-audio audiophile 192.
I produce dance music with a few hardware synths being imputted through a pioneer djm600 mixer (not ideal i know) i'm gonna eventually get a proper mixer and some hardware fx so not sure if that would effect what card i need.
My motherboard doesn't have a firewire connection so would that mean i need another pci card, or can i get an adapter, or does it not actually have much bearing on the sound how it's connected?
I was looking to spend 500+ but a grand would be a bit out of my reach; unless it's really nessesary.
Any advise is much appreciated
