There is still only very limited support for 64-bit Vista, and where it is supported the software is not yet that mature. You shouldn't have anywhere near as many problems with 32-bit Vista as nearly every manufacturer now has Vista compatible drivers and code for current versions of software and hardware.

Unless you absolutely must have a 64-bit OS for some reason, stick with 32-bit for the time-being, whether that be Vista or XP.
