Hi Monarch,
The stick thing. Yes I find this fascinating and handy, e.g. We have an old HP lappy, runs Sam8se Fast track pro fine but because it is only 850mHz and 512 ram that is about it! Now son would like to use WinWorks on it (yes ok, but he is used to it and it came with a pc!). I copied Works to a 4G stick and ran it on the laptop but making sure to install everything ONLY back to the "E" stick drive.

Job's good 'un! Works works fine, stuff can be saved on the stick (still shedloads of room for text files) and the dinky 20G HDD can be kept free for audio.

Question: Taking the same stick and plugging it into another pc, without Works I had to re-install Works "on the stick again" IYSWIM. Once done the pc runs it fine as well and W does not appear on the HDD or in Proggs'. All I have is a shortcut on the desktop for Works which don't if you pull the stick, as you would expect. So why another install?

I have bought 2x4G @ £18 and 2x2G @ £12 from PCW, seem fine. Another question: Are the very cheap sticks in anyway inferior, eg speed, to the same capacity for 3x the price or are you paying for Posh, security gizmos and a name?

Having fun,
Dave.
